Take Big Stress Out of Small Business

By Angelica Espinoza on Apr 09 in Wyoming Resources.

Boy, oh, boy, a small business can be stressful, so take big stress out of small business by following a few suggestions when the going gets tough.

  1. Organize Everything
  2. Talk A Deep Breath or Two
  3. Go for a Stroll
  4. One Step at a Time
  5. Separation for Superior Achievement
  6. Timeclock Designation

Organize your work area at your desk, any product area, or any other area where you perform your small business work tasks. A clear workspace helps clear a head. Clutter has the opposite effect.

Perform some breathing exercises when things go wacky woo-woo off the walls. Making business decisions when you are stressed will put a hamper on things.

When you are facing a task that is just giving you a headache, take a hike. Not a literal hike, but get up and clear your head with the blood pumping vibrations from a little walk around the block.

Do not act like you are a human octopus hybrid. Handle your tasks one at a time. Don’t try to be a multi-tasking superhero. Use your brainpower for one thing at a time. If you have a lot on your plate, just alternate between tasks every 15 minutes or so to break up the monotony.

Do not merge your worlds or you will lose your identity. Separate work and your personal life. You will be living each half a** if you do each all day long without any separation.

Work Hours

Decide what hours you are going to work and stick to that schedule. You want to use your energy wisely and not just have spurts of work performed throughout the day. Stick to a schedule and see how much you get done. You will be impressed with yourself.
